Artist Message
Selina Alko is a children's book and editorial illustrator. She has been making art for books and magazines for about 15 years. Her jazzy, colorful images can be found in such NY children's book classics as MY SUBWAY RIDE and MY TAXI RIDE and I'M YOUR PEANUT BUTTER BIG BROTHER. Booklist has this to say about Peanut Butter: it is a "refreshingly nondidactic story about prenatal anticipation in an interracial home”. Selina is married to illustrator, Sean Qualls, and they live in Brooklyn, NY with their 2 children. |
