Photography + Digital Illustration. Winter Bugs is the unexpected result I got after taking pictures of branches and playing around with them some random afternoon. Those black lines against the white background and the softness of the embroidery created such a crisp contrast that dragged me into the project until the eight bugs were finished.

Silkscreen/ 1 of 4 series/ 2009/19”x24”/ 8 colors. Frogs wish to be women. They go to Buddha's hospital to make their desires come true. Buddha gives the frogs plastic surgery, and while they are under anesthesia they dream of becoming women. But after their surgeries, the frogs’ faces remain the same.
