Ayush Ranka

Ayush Ranka is an independent photojournalist based out of Bangalore, India.

His work experience over the last 10 years has provided him with a bro...ad range of opportunities and exposure to a variety of assignments which have facilitated in streamlining his techniques. While he also takes up commercial projects, his true passion lies in Travel and Photojournalism.

He was one of the top ten short-listed photographers of the Redux Scholarship for the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in 2009.

He successfully completed the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop held in Manali in Aug 2009, under internationally acclaimed conflict photographer Mr.Ron Haviv, the series which have been featured on the official Foundry Website (http://www.foundryphotoworkshop.org/2010/02/2009-ayush-ranka/).

He was rewarded with an Honourable Mention at the first ever PX3 Prix De La Photographie competition, Paris 2007 for his series on the Tsunami of Dec 2004 and again for the 2008 competition with his series on Pushkar camel tribes. The competition featured participants from the world over and judges of international repute.

He is willing to travel wherever his assignments take him and is currently taking up freelance assignments for editorials and other corporate entities while he is not working on stories of local and national interest. Show more
