Artist Message
With subject matters ranging from children/teens to business, editorial and ipad games and apps, Pollak's technique combines collage, digital painting, scanned textures and found objects to create unusual visual stories. Barbara's clients have included Fortune, Lerner Publishing, Time For Kids, The Washington Post, Utne, Scholastic, Girl's Life, Newsday and Penguin Putnam. She has illustrated several YA books and series including "DISH", "Girl Stuff", "Mallory McDonald" as well as her own book, "Our Community Garden". Most recently, Ms. Pollak co-founded a company which focuses on creating and designing ipad, iphone, and android apps geared towards children. Ms. Pollak lives in San Francisco with her family and numerous animals. |
