Artist Message
I TRUST MY EYES. That's not to say I don't trust the camera. But at the end of the day, My eyes see what the lens can't. I suppose 15-plus years of shooting around the globe will have that effect on you. Because of those experiences, I consider myself both accomplished and fortunate. Whether it was covering Namibia's first Democratic elections as a photojournalist, serving as a newspaper staff photographer on Capital Hill, or taking shots of Village life in Mexico for the environmental group RARE, my subjects have taught me as much about photography as art school ever did. So today, when I'm shooting lifestyle portraits for an annual report or imagesfor a print advertising campaign, I tend to look beyond the lens. I'M LOOKING FOR PEOPLE. |
