Description: Mehdi Haghshenas was born in 1982 in Amol,Iran. He received a diploma in Graphic Design from the Beheshti school of Amol in 1999 and received his professional instruction and training at the Hasheminejad Faculty of Sari. In 2001,he ranked third in the scientific competition of students in Iran,and in the same year presented his thesis about " the thought of the Graphic Designer in the creation of the artwork". He started working as a freelance graphic designer on poster, magazine,book Cover,font,logo, and environmental design. He founded the Violet Graphic Group with 3 other designers and participated in many group exhibitions of graphic design. Since 2002 he has investigated Iranian logotype in combination with images for visual expression of type.He participated in Bouf-e kour,the first Iranian typography exhibition,Tehran, 2002; Molavi,the second Iranian typography exhibition,Tehran,2004; Fifty-Fifty poster exhibition in Palermo,Italy,2005; and 1st annual of typography posters as Asma-ul Husna, Tehran,2005 , to present his designs.
Mehdi then left the sphere of graphic design to study about Persian art and visual identification. So he studied Carpet Design in Isfahan Art University. Exploring and experiencing with Persian design was his new activity. He has given lectures and speeches at many national and international conferences such as the Shiraz School,the Iranian Academy of Arts,2008. Between 2007 and 2009,he was a guest lecturer teaching graphic design at the Soroush Faculy in Isfahan. He participated in the 9th contemporary Iranian graphic design biennial,Tehran, 2007 and began to design for both Isfahan Museum of Contemporary Art and some publishers. In 2009,after graduation from Isfahan Art University,he started studying for an M.A. in graphic design in Tehran Art University, and he participated in the 3rd international graphic biennial of the Islamic world,Tehran,2009.
He is looking for Image expression capacity in new experiences. His approach is " the Presence of Nature in the fundamentals of Graphic Design". He thinks that discovering the elements of nature,the inter-correlation of these elements,their birth,evolution,and death can be used as a basic structure in Graphic Design. Now,he is following these themes in his designs.
