Artist Message
Born near Hamburg, Dorit relocated from Germany to Los Angeles in the late 80's. She had previously established herself as a hair and makeup artist, working in Europe, Canada and the U.S. The techniques and sensibilities she developed during this time now enable her to create strikingly detailed and conceptual compositions, particularly with her beauty clients which have also led to high-profile assignment shoots for varied projects, among them destination spas and such brand recognized companies as Urban Decay Cosmetics, LORAC Cosmetics, Wet n Wild Cosmetics, Merle Norman cosmetics and Beachbody.com. Publications that have featured her work include Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Health, Yoga Journal, Fitness, Canadian Elle, Zink, Kurv magazine and Asian Tatler. In her free time Dorit is a bon vivant, and loves gardening, visiting art shows, hiking and going on road trips. From time to time she volunteers as a "beauty" photographer for the animals at the shelter, making them look so irresistible that many get adopted. |
