Artist Message
Geneviève has been taking pictures since she was in her teens, but only decided to become a photographer in her late twenties, after having worked as a graphic designer for a few years, as well as project manager in an advertising agency. She studied photography, graphic design and fashion merchandising. In her work, she chooses to represent an idealized, beautified reality which she controls both on set and in post-production. The subtle interaction between visual elements, independent of the subject matter, support strong notions of minimalism throughout her work. She spends her time between travel, personal projects and commissioned photography, both advertising and editorial, which regularly appears in major publications. She lives in Toronto with her husband |
