Artist Message
Wisconsin-born Jack Black studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts. While, sadly, he has never appeared in a movie or played in a rock band, he does paint illustrations out of his studio for clients including: Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, and Money Magazine. His work has been included in group exhibitions by the Society of Illustrators and American Illustration. His favorite living painter is Lucien Freud, who, he says, “reveals more about the human condition than any of his contemporaries.” Jack lives in Montclair, New Jersey with his wife and three kids. |
