Artist Message
Jon Weiman has illustrated over 300 book covers, two Children's books for the Smithsonian Institute and designed pins for Coca-cola for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. The recipient of numerous awards from professional organizations such as The Art Directors Club of New Jersey, Graphic Design USA, The Print Regional Design Annual and the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles; Jon Weiman's work has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collection of the United States Air Force. In 2010 he received an Award of Design Excellence from the ADCNJ, and an American Graphic Design Award for a brochure for Pink Lotus Jewelry. Currently an Adjunct Professor at Pratt Institute and an Instructor at Bloomfield College: he has taught at seven colleges in NY, NJ and PA. He has also written articles that have appeared in Communication Arts and Step-By-Step Graphics . Jon Weiman is the former National Vice-President of the Graphic Artists Guild. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Illustrators as the Chair of Professional Practices & Legislation, Fund Developement and as Editor in Chief of "The Bulletin", their newsletter.
