Artist Message
Michael Newhouse is an information designer. He has worked on many different projects, some of which were really interesting. Others, not so much. Michael has held various jobs, including floral delivery, computer keypunch operator, library assistant, Walmart cashier for one day, art director, creative director, environmental graphic designer, illustrator, adjunct professor and information architect. He pretty much will do anything for money, including catering. Michael lives in Bozeman Montana with his wife Meta, an award-winning documentary filmmaker and a teacher of Graphic Design at the Montana State University. Her current project is a series of documentary films on famous graphic designers. Michael & Meta have two Weimaraners, Hank and Lula, whom you will hear barking loudly whenever there is a delivery or a mail carrier anywhere in the neighborhood. Clients over the years include magazines, newspapers, books, hotels, hospitals, hunting lodges, advertising agencies, design firms, architects, builders, brokers, photographers, neurosurgeons, schools, colleges, convention centers, restaurants, arenas and airlines. Michael's an avid ephemera collector - really more of an obsession than a hobby. He spends way too much time in the dusty stacks of the library. |
