Brian Allen wanted to create a an illustration as a sample to try to get work from young-adult fantasy book publishers, a market that he would like to do more work in. "I chose a scene with an adventurer in an Aztec-like jungle temple so I could draw some funny and creepy totems - and I even got to sneak a skull in there too!" Brian continues to say, "I like to try different styles and themes whenever I can - keeps things from getting stale. I’m happy with how this turned out, and would like to do more in this genre."
