A few months ago, Peter Duffy of Photon Concepts approached a fellow colleague, Sam Benner of WSI Global Solutions on ways they could create awareness in their local community of their services in Design, Photography & Internet Marketing and Social Media development. Typically Duffy will give a client a look or brand to help a certain company "look" good and Benner will then create awareness and gather some eyeballs out on the web.
When they came together on how to better prepare Entrepreneurs and Small Business owners on how to choose creatives they decided to hold a large all day seminar in Ventura, California. EDGE Seminars & Workshops was born. Duffy and Benner put their money where their mouth is by fully creating a brand, look, business, website and even a themed teaser trailer for the Seminar company. They knew they'd have to give the attendee a lot more bang for their buck and decided to get more guest speakers from a wide range of topics on board. From Pro Photographer, Author, Educator and Photography Radio show host, Michael Stern, to the local Ventana & VC Reporter Magazine Publisher, David Comden & finally Craig Duswalt, former personal manager of Axl Rose from the band Guns N Roses, and author of the Rockstar System for Success.
The all day Business Development and Marketing Seminar is not your typical boring note taking setting. "We wanted people to have fun, change up a little." says Duffy when he explains the Tented Tradeshow outside featuring new model vehicles from Audi, Jaguar & Land Rover. They also plan a two hour cocktail party at the end of day where the attendees can enjoy the sunset on the mountain side overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Ventura County. Again Duffy says, "I was kind of sick of people asking me to "take" photos for $200 and giving them a CD. I'm usually like, that's not what we do at all. I want to show them the true power behind Photon Concepts, our designs and our new slogan."
The new slogan he's talking about is VISUALIZE.INFLUENCE a new term coined by Duffy and his team of creative people.
