"Art is love." Simply stated by Johanna Goodman in a Resource Magazine's interview by Camille Augustin.
A quote from the interview:
How did you get into the field of illustration? Was it always one of your passions or dreams?
"When I was a little kid, I used to stand at my black board and ask my mom, "What should I draw"? I liked the idea of having someone give me a problem to solve. Later when I was in art school, I realized there was a profession where you could do just that—illustration. Being an illustrator is perfect for me. I love having different clients present me with different problems to solve (though today they are slightly more complicated and sophisticated than "what should I draw"). But yes, drawing, painting, and generally image-making have always been my passion. Even without clients giving me assignments, I am always working; when I'm not, I am thinking about when I can get back in the studio again."
