A few years back, Mark Riedy was commissioned to create the likeness of football star and budding entrepreneur, Bo Jackson. Bo was releasing a line of homemade frozen pies based on momma's own recipes, and Riedy's graphic style was chosen as one direction for the packaging art. As it turned out, the portrait made a brief appearance in the frozen food case before the product line was acquired by a major food corp. "I would run across Bo's portrait in the occasional image search and often thought I would have liked to develop the entire brand design," said Riedy. Recently some free time crossed paths with some inspiration, and Mark was able to complete the design as he envisioned. Who Knows? If they had used this design direction, maybe Bo and Mark would still be chillin' in the frozen food isle.
