In Arlen Schumer's 'Salon' interview, he wanted everyone to know that Stan Lee didn't create comic superheroes alone...Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others also drew superheroes for Marvel Comics.
Arlen's also working with the director of the Jack Kirby online museum, (http://www.kirbymuseum.org) to raise money for the Museum (to eventually open up a real pop-up museum on the lower east side where he was raised) by selling limited edition, signed copies of his 16-page verbal/visual essay, "The Auteur Theory of Comics," as an 8.5"x11" beautifully-printed piece that was sold exclusively at the San Diego Comicon--now a true "Collector's Item Classic"! And this verbal/visual essay, based on Mort Weisinger's own words paired with Curt Swan's images, is the cover story of the new August issue of Roy Thomas' Alter-Ego, #112: http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1031
