"I've worked out a series of no's. No to exquisite light, no to apparent compositions, no to the seduction of poses or narrative. And all these no's force me to the 'yes.' I have a white background. I have the person I'm interested in and the thing that happens between us." —Richard Avedon Sam is an art director and illustrator who opened up shop in 1998. His work has been featured in PRINT magazine as well as all over his Mom's fridge. His latest interest is in those tiny but tasty spot illustrations that are found throughout books, magazines and newspapers. These lively drawings were done with a simple brush pen or ink and watercolor.
