Artist Message
Born in Louisiana but a native of Washington state, Christina Berkshire is a 21 year-old graphics student. She is now living in North Augusta, South Carolina with her husband AJ, of Berkshire Guitars, and her cat Maximus. The University of South Carolina at Aiken claims her as a junior student this year, though the years she’s spent in college (including a year at the Northwest College of Art) are only a part of her artistic education. Thanks to the gift camera her parents gave her, her skill for photography has grown since she was in seventh grade. Several teachers fueled her passions and inspired her to push her art in many directions. David Friedle, Shane Sliva, the late Deborah Munson, Patricia Robertson,Julius Finley, Al Beyer, Michael Fowler and Ginny Southworth have all helped Christina along the way and deserve a credit here for being great artistic teachers. So many others have encouraged her along the way and all of their inspiration can be found in her paintings, graphics, photography and writing. |
