Born and raised in Colombia, Catalina Estrada has been living and working in Barcelona since 1999. Her exuberant dream-like work combines the color and flavor of traditional Latin American folk art with contemporary Asian influences. The ever present floral and botanical shapes are reminiscent of the decorative Arts & Crafts movement whether seen in her wonderland settings or intricate repeat patterns. Catalina's enchanting characters and fantasy lands are inspired by her travels, literature, music, fairytales, family and chilhood experiences playing in nature in the mountains of Columbia .
