David Bergman

"This sure beats having a real job," is something David Bergman often says on assignment. The New York-based photographer has seen the world... and had the pleasure of photographing a wide variety of people from presidents and dictators to famous musicians, athletes, and actors.


His first love is tour photography and he's worked with Barenaked Ladies, Avril Lavigne, Joss Stone, Gloria Estefan, Evanescence, and Drew Carey among others. When he's not on tour, you'll often find him working as a contributing photographer for Sports Illustrated. They've published his images on the cover numerous times and have featured his work in the "Pictures of the Decade" and "Year in Pictures" issues.


Posted on his popular blog, David's panoramic "GigaPan" from President Obama's inauguration was viewed over ten million times and spawned an international game of "Where's Waldo." Photo District News named another one of his images an "Icon of the 21st Century," and he has been interviewed on CNN, 20/20, and Nightline. His images have been published in Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek, People, Entertainment Weekly, Blender, Kerrang, USA Today, and The New York Times. Before moving to Manhattan in 2001, David spent eight years as a member of the Miami Herald's Pulitzer-Prize winning staff where he covered national and international news, sports, and politics.


David shoots video as well and has produced EPK's, music videos, and video blogs for clients such as CBS, The Travel Channel, FremantleMedia, Embassy Row, Island/Def Jam and Select Records. He is a charter member of Apple's elite Aperture Advisory Board and is the founder and president of TourPhotographer.com, a company that sells prints to music fans after each show on a tour. Show more
