Harald-M. Lehnardt founded dolceVita 1995 in New York City,
As a native of Germany, Harald-M. Lehnardt studied Visual Communication at the Design Faculty in Bielefeld (Germany), then moved to New York City as a Fulbright Scholar in 1991 to attend Parsons School of Design and The New School for Social Research in Manhattan, where he finished his Master of Art in Media Studies. After a variety of freelance assignments around New York City, he became Senior Art Director at Macy’s headquarters for Federated Department Stores in Manhattan and was responsible for all fragrance, cosmetic and watch advertisements and collateral for the North East US region.
He spent 12 years as Senior Art Director at Macy’s headquarters in New York City, before he decided to give up his loft on Manhattan’s West Side in exchange for a nice little house in the Pupukea Hills on Oahu’s North-Shore, and took advantage of a new and challenging offer as Design Director for Lassen International in Waikiki. Shortly after joining Lassen Inc., Harald took advantage of an opportunity to join the creative team at Info Grafik as Senior Art Director. The Honolulu based design and consulting firm, that provides Hawai‘i-style brand development and management, opened up many opportunities to exciting projects and design challenges, and assisted to shape the perception of their clients by developing comprehensive communications strategies and marketing identity systems.
dolceVita was originally founded by Harald-M. Lehnardt New York City (in 1995), where it functioned as a portal for his freelance assignments as artist and designer in addition to his Senior Executive position at Federated Department Stores in Manhattan.
In 2008 dolceVita expanded to the dolceVita Group, a collaboration with creative resources in Europe, the continental US as well as additional key members from the design community on O‘ahu in Hawai‘i with Harald-M. Lehnardt as principal designer and owner.

We are a visionary creative team with 15+ years experience:
in consumer advertising, corporate identity, concept development, sales promotion, publication design, packaging, photo styling and art direction; with the desire to create a common understanding by telling a unique project story that guides the conceptual approach, marketing and sales. Special emphasis is placed on Hawai‘i-style brand image development, the creation of Hawaiian based retail concepts and management, that appeal to residents and to visitors alike.

Being a Hawai‘i based creative team gives us the opportunity to work with a local industry client and reflect upon its heritage and culture, but also to implement an international and contemporary approach if needed. Our advantage is having experienced high volume creative projects on both coasts; we strive to offer quality service by practicing honest, candid and timely communication and also by fostering ethical and social responsibility.
