Kristianne Riddle

ARTIST bio

Kristianne grew up in a family of world travelers. After receiving her BFA in photography, she embarked on intermittent travel and mount...aineering expeditions all over the world. Soon after she met her husband they set out on a life changing adventure together. Sailing a 38' sailboat from San Diego, CA to French Polynesia and north to Hawaii gave her a boundless sense of freedom. Her ocean voyages continue to influence her photography.

She currently lives in a California surf town and works as a lifestyle and fine art photographer. When she's not behind the lens, she is raising her two children and planning the next offshore adventure with her family.


ARTIST statement

My photography explores emotion and spirituality based in reality. I make photographs that express a devotion to family, explore the struggle between vulnerability and capability and illustrate a high regard for the natural world. I am an environmentalist, a romanticist and a minimalist.

I try to control every detail in my images yet I am perpetually drawn to the impreciseness and uncertainty of slow shutter speeds, alternative processes, instant film and underwater photography. Show more
