Mel started her design and illustration career in the basement of her parents' house in New Jersey. It was there that she perfected the art of drawing frogs. She sold her work to relatives in return for trips into Manhattan and pizza from Mr. Dino's. With a sufficient portfolio, she was accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and earned her BFA in Design. Show more
