More risqué burlesque as Neale O unveils Mz Vila

Apr 29, 2016

Throughout 2016, illustrator Neale Osborne has been exploring the many facets of his neo-retro cartoon muse, flapper-turned-Folies star Oöla-Lulà: she’s appeared in fake ‘Playtoon’ pictorials; on the covers of spoof spy novels (in the guise of ‘Shay Boudoir’); on film posters or animated stills (playing Holly Golightly, Princess Leia, even Jessica Rabbit, and The Bride of Frankenstein); as well as in a number of pastiche pictures - from 1920s-style cartoons to 1980s-style Patrick Nagel parodies.

Well, now into the weird world of Oöla comes a rival, Mz Vila.
Formerly vintage swimsuit pin-up ‘Miss Violet Smith’ (although Neale’s pretty sure she’s had other aliases) she’d soon shed her bikini (so to speak) and re-invented herself as ‘Mz Vila - alternative model and horror movie muse’, a femme fatale with a flair for fetishwear - not to mention ‘body art’ and an ever-changing range of tattoos.
Mz Vila’s new tantalizing Altpick gallery already contains a number of pictorial parodies and costume changes (including the Wicked Witch of the West, Vampira, and even the Sensational She-Hulk!)
Neale also has plenty of ‘cheeky ideas’ for Vila’s Playtoon debut - a Hallowe’en Special issue, in which his ‘alternative muse’ first sports her infamous bat-bra and panties.

Before you click on the links below, though - please note that Neale O’s naughty portfolio contains gratuitous eighties’ fashions, loaded bananas, cigar-smoking pussycats … and a tasteful hint of cartoon nudity.

‘Oöla-Lulà’, ‘Monsieur Prrr’, and ‘Mz Vila’ are the creation and copyright of illustrator Neale Osborne, 2016. ‘Shay Boudoir’, on the other hand, was the creation of fifties’ author Yann Flamingo. Which is odd because Yann Flamingo is a nom-de-plumage of Neale Osborne who wasn’t even born in the 1950s. Zpoof alors!
