2016 Might Be A Good Year For Peace In The World

Given what tend to pop up daily on the front page of major news-sources, it might come as a surprise that 2016 has, thus far, shown a global slowing-down of previously escalating political conflicts. In a recent Boston Globe-article (linked), Joshua S. Goldstein and Steven Pinker explain why there’s been a decline in war (and ultimately deaths) over the first few months of this year, and why there’s reason to be cautiously optimistic over current statistics.
