After 2 ½ years in the making, United States Postal Service is finally releasing an all-new series of stamps made by veteran illustrator and Altpick-member, Chris Lyons. The “Retro Pickup Truck” stamp series consists, as the name suggests, of four classic (wonderfully illustrated) pickup trucks from different eras in American automobile history; the 1938 International Harvester D-2 pickup, the 1948 Ford F-1, the 1953 Chevrolet Advance Design and the 1965 Ford F-100.
Creating this stamp series has been a long-time dream project for Chris, who, when interviewed by the Democrat & Chronicle, explained: “I put so much love into these stamps. It’s every illustrator’s dream to do a set of stamps. It’s just a cool thing to do.”
