Ryan Richmond, who is both an incredibly talented concept artist as well as illustrator, recently shared some beautiful digital paintings he made specifically for the recent “Ancient Civilizations: Lost & Found” challenge” on the website ArtStation. The story of the images focuses on an ancient, alien race, living on a planet in a nearby galaxy (no, not one ‘far, far away’), which is set to collide with a neighboring galaxy within the very nearby future. While most of the images shared are a combination of sketches and final keyframes that show the beings on the final day of chaos and destruction, the colored and slightly more developed piece instead depicts some last moments of joy and piece. It is fittingly entitled ”Bliss and Innocence”.
