Predko Gives New Life to Her Old Negatives

Oct 16, 2017

Who knew that something stored away for over 20 years could have a brand-new function in modern photography? Well, photographer Lisa Predko might have known, since she saved those old and unwashed Type 55 negatives she experimented with back in the day; by intentionally leaving the Polaroid chemicals on them untouched, Lisa made sure they became highly textured and that they would deteriorate faster. Today, those very same negatives came back to life, as Lisa decided to use them for her cover shoot with Chicago-based magazine, “Reader”, in an appropriate visual presentation of “found footage” filmmaker Bill Morrison. The results are nothing but astounding.
