Simon Puschmann Shows the Full Potential of Autochrome

Patented in 1903 by the Lumiére brothers in France and first marketed in 1907, the Autochrome serves as both a historic and useful process in color photography that allows for some truly awe-inspiring images. Before subtractive color was introduced in the 1930’s, Autochrome was the principal color photography process worldwide, and it’s still used by skilled photographers that know how to properly utilize it.

Simon Puschmann, who devised his very own trichromatic technique, is (evidently) one of these people. All image samples below were shot either with a Phase One IQ3 Achromatic or Leica Monochrome pure B&W camera.
