Davide Bonazzi is back with an excellent new cover illustration for Claudio Fava’s novel, “Il Giuramento” (“The Oath”).
The book tells the story of one of twelve Italian university professors who in 1931 refused to swear their loyalty to Benito Mussolini. It is freely inspired and based on Mario Carrara, a medical examiner who could not bear himself to do what was requested by all university staff at the time, believing the oath to be “ridiculous, grotesque, fake” and, above all else, “indecent”.
