Eddie Guy’s latest series of illustrations for The Washingtonian was created for an article on high-paid D.C. Millennials who use side hustles to “Ball Out”. In a city where $800 gives you a sub-par standard room in a dingy townhouse, Millennials with six-figure salaries are doing “gig work” on the side - like charging electrical scooters or working as barre instructors at the local gym - in order to afford living like kings and queens.
