Eddie Guy Shares New Work For Psychology Today

May 14, 2020

The pressures of the medical profession are known to most people, and the topic might now be more discussed than ever before. A recent article in Psychology Today talks about how doctoring has become an almost unrecognizable activity for many of the nation's physicians - a problem that started long before the Covid-19 crisis. Doctors and other medical workers sometimes take worse care of themselves than they do of their patients, and this is brilliantly depicted in Eddie Guy’s featured illustration. While borrowing some of the iconic imagery from Il Sodoma’s famous “Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian” painting, Eddie uses his excellent skills as an illustrator to give it a whole new, and very topical, spin.

In related news (and pertaining to viruses specifically), Eddie also recently shared one of his older assignments for Scientific America, which deals with the topic of “using viruses to help fight cancer”. Maybe a needed reminder in times like these that even viruses can be used for our common benefit?
