Between August 3 and 31, the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme saw various restaurants offer 50% discounts to those who chose to eat at their establishments. With the promise of a clean and safe environment, customers got a chance to help out their local eateries while simultaneously saving money.
For James Benn, who recently portrayed this scheme with a brilliant new illustration, the experience was a bizarre yet welcoming one: “I went to a restaurant a few weeks back and I have to say extra measures were made to keep everyone safe! Although strange it felt nice to get out the house and feel some sense of normality.”
