Photographer Marc Morrison's Recent Samsung Campaign

Jan 11, 2021

Marc Morrison was commissioned to shoot a campaign for Samsung both for mobile and brand in early December to support their social media and advertising buys for the Christmas Season and beyond. The shoot was involved as it was 8 days, a number of talent, and the ADs wanted a huge number of deliverables - many more than the original ask.
This is exactly the type of production Morrison loves!

Morrison gives us an inside look on shoot during these challenging times:

"We faced a number of challenges on set but none more important than Covid19 safety precautions and strict procedures. Even though we were on a closed set, we had in excess of 70 people if you include talent, agency people (of which there were many), both film and stills teams, and all supporting crew members, and our Covid safety officers.

Even though we were shooting at the same time as the motion team we were usually in separate ends of the 20,000sq foot studio thus causing very few problems. One other way we were able to mitigate interference with the motion team was by using continuous light sources. Often I combine continuous lighting with a strobe but in this scenario, we shot 100% LED so our color balance meshed beautifully with the motion side.

The shoot was a series of portraits (with the products being important but not in your face) and lifestyle, fun candid type moments. One of our talents was Tan France who is known for many different fashion-related programs but primarily as one of the co-hosts of Netflix’s wildly popular show Queer Eye. I have to say when you are working with someone like Tan, someone who is so professional, it is truly a gift."
