Krause Makes A Few Changes to A Classic “Dictator”

Feb 08, 2021

“Milt, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get.”

If you’ve seen the 90’s-movie “Office Space”, you may find that line familiar. It was spoken by the movie’s smarmy and condescending boss, Bill Lumbergh. The character (played by actor Gary Cole) is a parody that unfortunately might hit close to home with some who have worked or are working in an office space, though if you ask the Wall Street Journal that may soon change. According to a recent article, less administrative work and more direct reports may just turn the previously authoritarian leadership of many bosses into something more of a “mentor” or a “coach”. John Krause illustrates this brilliantly by turning the now-classic character of Bill Lumbergh into just that: a coach.
