Richard Borge Illustrates Fast-Paced Economy Proposal

Mar 03, 2021

“You are driving down a highway you’ve never been on before, eager to get to your destination. You’re in a hurry but also want to avoid a ticket. One problem: You don’t know the speed limit. How hard do you push on the accelerator?”

That is the intro to a recent article in The New York Times, which likens the Biden Economy’s $1.9 trillion stimulus package to a fast-moving car that is risking a speeding ticket. As the new administration and Congress are aiming to reach full employment as soon as possible, some are highlighting the risk of causing excessive inflation (in this example likened to a speeding penalty). As per usual, Richard Borge provides yet another excellent computer-generated illustration to accompany the article. Borge also shared a few “work-in-progress” screencaps of the image’s initial creation.
