Bejar's "Mudita" Finds Joy In the Well-Being of Others

May 13, 2021

Dan Bejar’s latest full-page illustration, titled “Mudita”, can be seen in the Spring 2021 issue of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review (a Buddhist magazine based in NYC). For those unfamiliar, Mudita is a word that means joy, especially sympathetic or vicarious joy where pleasure is found through delighting in the well-being of others. “This story was about practicing mudita during an ongoing global pandemic and social unrest”, says Dan. ⁣”We could all use a little mudita.” Art direction was made by Ed Levine.
