Photographer George Kamper took care in finding the right pool, lighting consideration, depth, and location to finally decide on a local yacht club for the Venice Magazine shoot.
Four-time Olympic World Champion in Artistic Swimming, Kristina Makushenko, the subject of the shoot, has the rare ability to control her body movements and placement in the water while holding her breath for a few minutes at a time.
Kamper photographed her performing a perfect 360 capturing her in stills, as well as, a motion while she was wearing a one-piece bathing suit with heels.
To help tell the story, Kamper and the stylist used a variety of colors and materials to accentuate Kristina's skills and precision. Kristina's trademark move includes the "Moonwalk" just at the precipice of the surface while inverted and moving backward.
