Just like chemistry keeps evolving, so does the talent of New York-based illustrator Richard Borge. His latest illustration for Scientific America is a testament to his ever-improving skills of implementing an artistic vision into computer-generated imagery. The illustration accompanies an article on quantum computing (the use of “quantum computers” which exploit collective properties of quantum states to perform computation) and its future use in chemistry to create more accurate molecular models.
