Anni Betts recently got an opportunity to work on a fun and climate-friendly collaborative picture-book project with the folks at LG&E/KU Energy and Shaker Village, both of whom are located in the Louisville area in Kentucky.
The adorable book is called “Levi the Lamb’s Big Day” and centers around - you guessed it - the cute little lamb Levi, as he and the other farm animals ponder about ways in which he may be able to save the world. In essence, it tells the story of how the very real sheep and lambs of Shaker Village help keep the area between the energy companies’ solar panels from overgrowing using their natural mowing talents - and enjoying some tasty green grass in the process! “I loved working on this book because it has a great green message”, said Anni. “Each spread was different than the last, and it included lots of animals and plants which of course I love to draw.”
