Alexei Vella's recently commissioned full-page illustration for The New York Times Food Section "The New Details of Dining" zeros in on the nuances of eating out. Since the pandemic, new considerations need to be made about what time to make your reservations, where to go, indoors or outdoors, etc. The pandemic has not only changed in regards to safety but how one orders food, for example, now you scan the bar code to get the menu.
Alexei's illustration tells the story of the last 2 1/2 years of eating out and the possibility of it changing back to pre-pandemic days are not likely.
