Altpick.com members Nicholas Felton and Naoya Wada launched the new Quannum Projects site on July 26th, 2005.
Felton exploited the visual vocabulary of record-digging to bring a new look to the revered west-coast label’s content. Digging through bargain-bins of records for graphic samples, Felton stitched together images for the artists that celebrate this vocabulary and process and result in a natural and fascinating new look for Quannum.
Wada, who coded the site, used MySQL and PHP to create a database driven site that Quannum could update themselves using a content management system. Other highlights of the site development include a Flash navigation as well as a database driven Flash based MP3 player.
