popNYC Gets Busy

Mar 29, 2001

The prolific team of altpick.com member/illustrator Mark T. Smith and Vincent La Cava that comprise popNYC, have recently completed user-based projects for such clients as Nick.com, Cartoon Network.com, TBS, Spiderdance, and SonyStation.

Two of popNYC's creations, The Atomic Comic for Nick.com and Cartoon Network.com's Aniluxe, allow users to produce their own distinct comic or animated sequence. Both of these projects are finalists in the "Excellence in Motion & Graphic Design" category of the BDA Awards to be held in Miami Beach, June 20-23, 2001.

La Cava also lately art directed a multi-player version of Wheel of Fortune for SonyStation with avatar design and animations by popNYC. Five samples of La Cava's work, including the Wheel of Fortune game, will soon be featured in the upcoming Young Guns III exhibition at The Art Directors Club from Thursday, April 5 through May 10, 2001.
