Max Dolberg's reception for his body of work entitled Full Coverage at Invisible NYC last Thursday was a huge success! A number of the "Collectors" were present, live in the gallery to showcase the work in the flesh. The event was sponsored by 1800Tequila and Macau beer.

SYNOPSIS Expanding on the Suits Made to Fit project, the in-house, as well as the
extended members of San Jose's NSKolectiv have been working for several years to
produce a new body of work under the working title Full Coverage. The goal being a
series of comprehensive back pieces on living canvases ("The Collectors").
Completed, this project showcases 33 back pieces (generally top of shoulders to back
of thighs) presented exclusively in the dermis.
This approach of using the entire body as one canvas, as opposed to multitude of
small planes, common in western methods, transcends what is commonly perceived as
a tattoo. Throughout the generations, a select few tattooers have embraced and,
after years of dedication, mastered this method. The members of the NSKolectiv
attempt to approach this level that their predecessors climbed to and in turn
introduce their own visual concepts into the timeless forms that have brought the
craft of tattooing to this point.
BOOK Hardcover, 200 page, with companion DVD will retail for $120.00. The Full
Coverage book lavishly documents the entire process of creating each individual back
piece from start to finish. The film offers a personal look into the tattooers'
creative process and the individual struggle each collector faced. A view into a
long process not otherwise seen.
PRINTS ON EXHIBIT The NSKolectiv in house photographer Max Dolberg will exhibit and
make available over 300, signed & numbered, limited edition prints available at the
exhibition. All photographs were taken during the two years that the NSKolectiv
undertook this project. All Full Coverage prints are being made using state of the
art, pigment based archival inks on heavy weight, cotton-fiber paper and will easily
last over 100 years. All prints from the show are available is sizes ranging from
4x6 inches to 23x40 inches. Each image will be limited to 25 prints per size.
