Back in January, the Morgan Gaynin team was proud to announce that Raul Colon had been awarded the prestigious Sydney Taylor award for his work on “As Good as Anybody,” a story about the friendship between Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Joshua Heschel. The Sydney Taylor Award is bestowed annually by the Association of Jewish Libraries to recognize outstanding Jewish children’s literature.
Raul went to Chicago in July to receive the award at the 44th AJL annual convention. Here, Raul is picture with his beautiful wife, Edith (and, of course, his snazzy certificate!):
