Aug 08, 2012

The Washington Post commissioned artist, Penelope Dullagan, to create an editorial piece to go along with a story about the writer’s journey to find a certain special rock. The writer’s mother, on her deathbed, requested this rock be the location where her ashes would be spread. Many years later the writer has yet to find this rock.

The article delves deeper into her relationship with her mother and the emotional journey of finding this rock. Penelope collaborated with the art director from the initial concept sketch to the final product, which perfectly depicts the writer’s emotional journey.
