Daniel Fishel's latest piece for Wes at the LA Times is for a section called “LA Affairs.” Essentially, the story describes the divorce of a couple and the husband’s subsequent admittance into rehab and a halfway house. A judge granted him visitation rights to see his children once a week during dinner at his exes’ house. During the weekly visits the family also watched “Survivor” together. The narrative of Survivor was the thread that unified them even when his ex-wife wished to “kick him off the island.” It is a very interesting piece.
