Nicola Majocchi

Nicola Majocchi spent his teenaged years hurtling down the snow-covered slopes of the Italian Alps as a competitive downhill racer. By the time he was... 19 years old, however, 15 broken bones and two knee surgeries had given him ample reason to trade in his skis for an Hasselblad and move to the States.

In 1994 after five years of working with Irving Penn in New York City, Majocchi struck out on his own. Before long, his signature photographic style - a postmodern mix of urban edginess, elegant juxtapositions and a timeless romanticism that rises out of his European past - has solidified his position as one of New York’s most sought-after sportswear, athlete and beauty photographers and his distinctive style is often recognized by the world of fashion.

Today, Majocchi’s clients include Nike, Arena, FootLocker, Reebok, Levis, New York City Ballet, Cirque du Soleil for Conde Nast Publications among many others. Some of the European and American publications Nicola shoots for, include Vogue, Vanity Fair, Madame and Surface. Show more
