Artist Message
In 2003, I founded XIII Design, LLC to provide illustration, graphic design and art direction services to clients in the music, video game and entertainment industries. I have recently also begun doing quirky pieces about food and the relationships between foods. I've worked for many years designing and developing merchandise for high-profile rock and pop artists, including Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, Usher, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Slipknot, Disturbed, Slayer, Marilyn Manson and lots of others. I love most of all to create intricate and beautiful watercolor paintings and pen drawings that have a a slightly weird sense of humor. I also enjoy being challenged with projects that require solutions beyond the scope of my personal style. I'd rather take a risk and try something new than rest on past successes. Working in the fast-paced merchandise industry has made me flexible, accurate, quick and consistent. Working on my own art and illustration keeps me in touch with the love that I have for traditional drawing and painting.
