WIRED Magazine Uses Vella’s Illustration for Sci-Fi-Article

Jul 18, 2017

A colorful illustration by Alexei Vella, focusing on our ever-growing abilities to experience new and exciting worlds, is the header image for WIRED magazine’s latest article on the importance of written science fiction. The article talks about a new competition backed by the X Prize Foundation, that aims to envision the state of our planet (and possibly others) 20 years from now! Built as a competition, writers worldwide are asked to tell their own short story of a person sitting in “Seat 14C” of an airplane that travels through a wormhole and is tossed two decades into the future. On top of that, 22 short stories focusing on the plane’s other passengers, which were written by already-established sci-fi writers, have been published to spark peoples’ imagination.

To learn more about this forward-looking project, be sure to check out the stories and full article (along with Alexei’s amazing illustration) in the links below!
